Book review by María José de la Cruz Salas

UNDER THE DUVET

This book is a funny selection of short articles written by Marian Keyes in newspapers and magazines.

In these articles, she talks about different themes like her travels, her experiences in London (she is Irish but she moves there for some years), her British husband, the difficulty of finding a house to buy, her family…

Through these articles, which are not in a chronological order, we can have a vision about the mentality of the writer, her opinions, and her point of view about current events.

It is a very funny book, which I recommend, as I think is very amusing and easy to understand.

  1. I read it last year and I completely agree with María José, it's easy to read and with lots of colloquial expressions and words if I remember it right. As it's a collection of short and funny stories you're going to get hooked on it and read it from cover to cover in a few days. And you'll probably "reread" some of the funniest chapters of the book. Enjoy it !!

  2. Well, I must confess I'm a superfan of Marian Keyes's and I try to read every book written by her I can get hold of. So far I've loved them all. I've heard there's a new one out, just published at Christmas.

  3. Ooooh. It sounds good, I may have to give it a try. I have only read one book of hers before, but I liked it. The only problem is, I don't have much time nowadays to read for pleasure. I have to read "La Regenta" next for University, which is roughly 1,000 pages long. I am NOT looking forward to that. :(
