Who is The Script ?

The Script are a three-piece Irish rock band from Dublin, Ireland. They are currently based in London after signing to RCA Label Group imprint Phonogenic, and their debut album "The Script" was released in August 2008.
Mark and Danny are former producers who worked with Rodney Jerkins, the Neptunes, Teddy Reilly and Dallas Austin. They were based in the US, but moved back to Dublin where they recruited Glen for their new band. The band signed to Phonogenic in spring 2007, and released an EP on Last.FM.
Their debut single "We Cry" received 'Single of the Week' on RTÉ 2FM, Today FM and by Jo Whiley on BBC Radio 1[1], and was Kevin Hughes' tune of the week on GCap Media's The One Network show Music Control. Their second single, The Man Who Can't Be Moved, was also Kevin Hughes Tune Of The Week on Music Control Radio, as well as Jo Wiley's pet sound. Their debut album The Script reached number 1 in the UK and Ireland the week it came out.
Band Formation and Development

Danny and Mark met in their early teens in the run down James Street area of Dublin, near the Guinness brewery, gravitating to each other through a shared obsession with music, and in particular a love of American black music. "At that time, MTV only came on in Dublin after midnight, it was the fuzzy channel, and for my generation black culture was just a wave through us all," explains Mark. "It wasn't about gangs and guns; it was fashion and fun, singing and dancing." [2]
Striking up a songwriting and production partnership, Danny and Mark's exceptional talent was recognised early, and, to their astonishment, they found themselves invited to the States to collaborate with some of their production heroes, including such legends of modern R'n'B as Dallas Austin, Teddy Riley, The Neptunes and Rodney Jerkins. "It was a wonderful opportunity to see how these guys build songs," admits Mark, who always carried a little computer drive around and charmed his heroes into swapping libraries of sounds and samples.[3]
Danny and Mark started as a backroom team, making demos for other artists, but when they met fellow Dublin drummer Glen, the dynamic shifted. Although they had never actually heard him play, such was the connection they made that Mark invited Glen on a working holiday to LA. "He just whipped the ass off all these LA session musos," enthuses Mark. "He is the funkiest drummer around with real energy and swing but Glen is also a fantastic guitarist, a fantastic keyboard player and he sings his ass off too." [4]
Glen had been playing sessions from fifteen years old, using the money to work on a solo project in his home studio. But that went on hold when his collaboration with Mark and Danny produced three songs in one week. "It was like I found my home playing with these guys," says Glen. "I had never had a chance with any other band to express myself with such freedom." And so The Script went into production.

The script- the man who can't be moved-lyrics

Going back to the corner where I first saw you,
Gonna camp in my sleeping bag I'm not gonna move,
Got some words on cardboard got your picture in my hand,
Saying if you see this girl can you tell her where I am,
Some try to hand me money they don't understand,
I'm not...broke I'm just a broken hearted man,
I know it makes no sense, but what else can I do,
How can I move on when I'm still in love with you...

Cos if one day you wake up and find that you're missing me,
And your heart starts to wonder where on this earth I can be,
Thinking maybe you'll come back here to the place that we'd meet,
And you'd see me waiting for you on the corner of the street.

So I'm not moving...
I'm not moving.

Policeman says son you can't stay here,
I said there's someone I'm waiting for if it's a day, a month, a year,
Gotta stand my ground even if it rains or snows,
If she changes her mind this is the first place she will go.

I'm not moving...
I'm not moving.

People talk about the guy
Who's waiting on a girl...
Oohoohwoo
There are no holes in his shoes
But a big hole in his world...
Hmmmm

and maybe I'll get famous as man who can't be moved,
And maybe you won't mean to but you'll see me on the news,
And you'll come running to the corner...
Cos you'll know it's just for you

I'm the man who can't be moved
I'm the man who can't be moved...

Cos if one day you wake up and find that you're missing me,
And your heart starts to wonder where on this earth I can be,
Thinking maybe you'll come back here to the place that we'd meet,
And you'd see me waiting for you on the corner of the street.
[Repeat in background]

So I'm not moving...
I'm not moving.

I'm not moving...
I'm not moving.

Going back to the corner where I first saw you,
Gonna camp in my sleeping bag not I'm not gonna move.

Some comments agbout the lyrics:

It's a damn great song! i fell inlove with it, it's the man who decided not to move on, to wait for the girl who left him, and incase just incase the girl would realize, the man who can't be moved would stay right were they first met.. no matter what
BABYFACE

I absolutely love this song. It makes me wonder if anyone would go to all that trouble if they were in love with me. I certainly would, if I loved someone!

This song is amazing, i love it, it makes me think just how far some ppl will go in the name of love.

song-I'm blue by Eiffel 65

Blue is the colour of sadness in English, when you say, "I'm blue" you mean, "I'm sad, depressed". You can say "I've got the blues. But, be careful a blue joke or movie is not quite the same thing, that is to say they are always related to sex and sometimes they might offend some people.
I hope you enjoy the two versions of the song with the illustrated lyrics that hopefully will help you understand all the words. But don't get all blue listening to it on the contrary,I find it quite funny. It's wonderful to listen to a nice catchy song once in a blue moon. (Can you explain the meaning of that expression?

LYRICS FOR LEMON TREE

I'm sitting here in a boring room
It's just another rainy sunday afternoon
I'm wasting my time, I got nothing to do
I'm hanging around, I'm waiting for you
Bur nothing ever happens - and I wonder
I'm driving around in my car
I'm driving too fast, I'm driving too far
I'd like to change my point of view
I feel so lonely, I'm waiting for you
But nothing ever happens, and I wonder

Refrain:
I wonder how, I wonder why
Yesterday you told me 'bout the blue blue sky
And all that I can see is just a yellow lemon tree
I'm turning my head up ans down
I'm turning, turning, turning, turning, turning, around
And all that I can see is just a yellow lemon tree
La, la da dee da, etc.

I'm sitting here, I miss the power
I'd like to go out taking a shower
But there's a heavy cloud inside my head
I feel so tired, put myself into bed
Where nothing ever happens - and I wonder

Isolation is not good for me
Isolation - I don't want to sit on a lemon tree
I'm stepping around in a dessert of joy
Baby anyhow I'll get another toy
And everything will happen - and you'll wonder

(Refrain)

I wonder how I wonder why
Yesterday you told me 'bout the blue blue sky
And all that I can see
And all that I can see
And all that I can see is just a yellow lemon tree

LEMON TREE BY FOOL'S GARDEN

"Lemon Tree" is a song by German pop band Fool's Garden from the album Dish of the Day, which was released as a single in 1995 and became a major international hit in 1996. The single reached number 26 in the UK charts and remained at number 1 for several weeks in Germany. It also reached number 1 in Ireland, where Dustin the Turkey recorded a parody called "Christmas Tree". Taiwanese singer Tarcy Su and South-Korean singer Park Hye Kyung, have both released covers of the song.

Comments:
I think this is about someone who is waiting for someone he thinks he really loves but really he has exaggerated this person in his head so that they sound better than they actually are(yesterday you told me bout the blue blue sky). Because he is so wrapped up in waiting for this person he doesnt notice how isolated he has become. Thats why all he can see is just a yellow lemon tree.

viva la vida

I used to rule the world
Seas would rise when I gave the word
Now in the morning I sleep alone
Sweep the streets I used to own

I used to roll the dice
Feel the fear in my enemies eyes
Listen as the crowd would sing:
"Now the old king is dead! Long live the king!"

One minute I held the key
Next the walls were closed on me
And I discovered that my castles stand
Upon pillars of salt, and pillars of sand

I hear Jerusalem bells are ringing
Roman Cavalry choirs are singing
Be my mirror my sword and shield
My missionaries in a foreign field
For some reason I can not explain
Once you know there was never, never an honest word
That was when I ruled the world
(Ohhh)

It was the wicked and wild wind
Blew down the doors to let me in.
Shattered windows and the sound of drums
People could not believe what I'd become
Revolutionaries Wait
For my head on a silver plate
Just a puppet on a lonely string
Oh who would ever want to be king?

I hear Jerusalem bells are ringing
Roman Cavalry choirs are singing
Be my mirror my sword and shield
My missionaries in a foreign field
For some reason I can not explain
I know Saint Peter won't call my name
Never an honest word
And that was when I ruled the world
(Ohhhhh Ohhh Ohhh)

Hear Jerusalem bells are ringings
Roman Cavalry choirs are singing
Be my mirror my sword and shield
My missionaries in a foreign field
For some reason I can not explain
I know Saint Peter will call my name
Never an honest word
But that was when I ruled the world
Oooooh Oooooh Oooooh
