Subject: Supporting the proposal for the new law
To whom it may concern,
In response to the notice published on your website, we are writing in order to let you know our opinion about it.
First of all, we think everybody should have the right to know what happens with what belongs to them. Money is an important issue in that respect, so everyone must be able to monitor their credit card used to pay with their own money.
Since students under 21 who are not financially self-sufficient are spending their parent’s money, parents must have the possibility to monitor their children’s credit card if they want to do it.
In conclusion, we consider monitoring credit cards as the best way to avoid future problems related to their parent’s money.
We very much hope you will consider our opinion.
Yours faithfully,
Mayte, Silvia, Charo and Belén

Subject: Against the implementation of the new law.
We are writing with regard to the proposal for a new law that would allow parents to monitor their under 21 children’s credit cards purchases.
We would like to express our strong disagreement about this idea since we consider this measure abusive and an invasion of privacy. Young people at that age are responsible enough to manage their own expenses and parents should be able to trust them. This only would result in making them feel uncomfortable and untrustworthy.
Taking this into account, we would like people to reconsider the implementation of this law because it will eventually turn out to be against their rights.
Yours faithfully,
Claudia Muñoz, Cristina Cuéllar, Natalia Velázquez and Alicia Álvarez.

Subject: Against the implementation of the new law.
To whom it may concern,
I am writing in regard to the proposal for a new law that would allow parents to monitor their children´s on line credit card purchases.
Being a university student, I feel this law will be an unacceptable invasion of our privacy. As well as a demonstration of lack of trust on our sense of responsibility. Since we are consider adults that can be judge and send to prison, mature enough to get a driving licence, grow up enough to get married,…Why are not we consider old enough to control our online credit card purchases?
Moreover, it has to be taking into account that sixty per cent of the university students of this district have their own incomes, result of their part-time jobs, so why should their own money be monitored by their parents?
I think we deserve the opportunity to take our own decision, even if they are wrong. This is the essence of life.
I very much hope you will consider my arguments.

Subject: in favour of monitoring our students
To whom it may concern,
Recently I came across your new proposal online explaining your brilliant idea. I would like to express my total agreement with your proposal regarding monitoring our students’ online credit card purchases.
I think it is something positive because youngsters under 21 usually leave themselves open to cyber crimes such as identity theft, internet scams, blackmailing, cyber bullying and many more.
Parents should control their kids’ purchases because they are the ones paying for their studies, so they have the right to know in order to protect them from potential risks shopping online.
As they are very young they are not aware of cyber threats that they may encounter when using credit cards recklessly. Students need their parents' advice and protection on this important matter.
Yours faithfully,
Ana Cabrera

To whom it may concern,
Since parents pay for students´ expenses we think they have got the right to monitor the way they spend their money. This kind of students are very young and they are not sensible enough.
Nowadays we live in the information age and young people are really keen on the use of the Internet and there are a lot of risks involved in buying online. If they are not aware of these risks, they can be robbed through identity theft.
Allowing parents to control their kids´ credit cards will let them avoid wasting money, and furthermore, youngsters can learn to be more responsible.
Yours faithfully,
A group of concerned parents.

Subject: For monitoring students
To whom it may concern,
Firstly, I would like to introduce myself as the father of one of your students, who nowadays is 19 years old.
According to your proposal, I would like to express my total agreement about monitoring students´online credit card purchases.
In my humble opinion, it is a good idea because youngsters under 21 usually leave themselves open to cyber crimes such as internet scams or blackmail. I am totally convinced parents should control their children´s purchases to keep them out of this sort of trouble. Needless to say that we are paying for their university studies and we want to guarantee the best outcome for our investment.
I hope this proposal will succeed in the near future.
Yours faithfully,
Edward Robinson

Subject: Our opinion in favor.
To whoever it may concern,
The propose of this email is to let you know our opinion about the proposal for the new law that would allow parent to monitor their children’s online credit card purchases as long as their children are in university and under 21.
This new law can be seen by others as an invasion of privacy but we know from our previous experience that is the parent’s responsibility to teach them how to handle with money in a proper way.
Furthermore, everyone has the right to manage their own money, as it applies on this case, that is why parents must have the right to control the way in which youngsters spend some money, that is not theirs.
For all these reasons we expect that low to be approved.
Yours faithfully,
Esther, Ester and Héctor.

Subject: For the proposal
To whom it may concern,
I am writing with regard to the new proposal that allows parents to monitor their children´s online credit card purchases as long as their children are in university and under 21.
From our point of view, this is a very delicate and a highly controversial proposal.
In our opinion, parents should be able to check on how much and what their kids expend their money on. It has nothing to do with control their expenses, it is just a matter of concerned parents. Parents need to be sure that kids are aware of how many risks there are on the internet related to cyber threats. Thereby, if personal data is being used dishonestly parents would help them to sort it out in a safe and responsible way.
Furthermore, the big effort for families to make ends meet should be taken into account by their children.
Yours faithfully,
Ian Bejana.

Subject: Proposal against the credit card monitoring law for university students.
To whom it may concern,
I am writing with regard to the new proposal which will allow parents to monitor their children’s online credit card purchases.
I consider that at the age of 18 students are mature enough to take their own decisions, including those regarding money.
I also strongly believe that nobody learns from other people’s mistakes, so we should give students the opportunity to learn from their own ones.
Furthermore, we must consider that even if the students receive their money from their parents, their privacy deserves to be respected. If you were 21, would you not feel uncomfortable knowing that yours parents have so much control over you?
I very much hope you will consider my opinion.
Yours faithfully,
Sarah Sandersons
