REPORT ON
HYPNOSURGERY
INTRODUCTION
The aim of
this report is to outline the results of a survey which was carried out to
assess the possibility of having a hypnosurgery rather than the traditional
operation. Two thousand hospitalized patients aged between eighteen and fifty
were questioned.
FACTS AND
FINDINGS
1. Hypnotherapy was developed in the
late 1800s. Illnesses such as anxiety or drug addictions are effectively
treated by controlling the subconscious without anaesthetics.
2. Hypnotherapists will do several
tests so as to determine their client’s problem and the degree of
suggestibility before starting the session.
3. Hypnosurgery is considered to be
safe and with a wide variety of benefits. For instance, fewer side effects or
patients leaving the hospital sooner than if normal anaesthetics were used.
4. The opinion is divided about the
effectiveness of hypnosis during the process. Some medical experts say that the
patient may wake up. However, practitioners of this method believe in it and
have seen its effectiveness.
5. A further seventy per cent of those
surveyed said that they will like to use hypnosurgery rather than the
traditional method.
CONCLUSION
AND RECOMMENDATION
Overall, it
seems that experts and users are divided about its riskiness. For this reason,
it is suggested that patients consult a specialist before making any decision.
