LIVING IN DENMARK VS LIVING IN THE STATES
Many people believe that the USA is one of the best places in the world to live due to work opportunities, cultural mixtures and freedom. However, there are more countries apart from the States where life could be better or, at least, happier. This is the case of Denmark where the happiest people in the world live.
It is widely demonstrated that living in Denmark makes people feel better than in the States for a large number of reasons. First of all, public money is extensively used in social rights, especially in childcare, safety, health, education and unemployment benefits, although for that it is necessary to have huge taxes, which does not constitute a problem for the citizens. Secondly, Danish people do not usually waste money in needless things and they usually live in tiny and empty flats. They are not religious and they prefer to live with the person they love instead of celebrating glamorous weddings.
On the other hand, in the Sates there are those who complain about the high taxes, in fact there is not, up to now, health insurance or a quality public education, making the social gap bigger than in other parts of the world. There can be no doubt that consumerism is the lifestyle for the Americans and it is reflected in their enormous houses full of items. There is a great variety of religions and they consider marriage as a social event, not a matter of love; indeed, the USA is the country where more divorces take place.
In conclusion, living in Denmark versus living in the USA has a lot of advantages. Although there are people who overestimate the way of living there, and besides the stereotypes, from my point of view, a lot of countries, not only in Europe, but also all over the world, should follow the example of Denmark.
