An Autobiography

My name is M. I was born on March 21st 1961, here in Valladolid. I am the third of five siblings. My father worked long hours in his own building supply store. My Mother looked after us and my grandfather. I went to a primary school run by nuns and when I look back on my childhood I remember it as a happy period in which I played with my sister and brothers in a house full of joy and fun.

At school I started to make friends and nowadays we are still in touch. I think that school friends are the best in life. It was during this period that I developed an interest in drawing and painting, in fact in my memories I was always with a pencil case crammed with pencil colours and watercolours, and I used to win prizes in school drawing competitions. This skill was probably the most important thing to earn a living.

After leaving school I went to university where I graduated as an architect and then got a place as a teacher at the Architectural School of Valladolid. At the same time I set up my own studio of architecture with a colleague. But one of my most important turning points was when I met Paco, a salesman. We kept in touch after that, and to cut a long story short, we got married a year later and settled in Santovenia de Pisuerga, a village near Valladolid.

Upon our arrival I did my doctoral thesis and after that we did the most important thing in our lives, we went to China to adopt two little girls, our daughters, the most beautiful princesses in the world and then I became a super mother forever. Now, my long-term plan is to bring our children up and learn English and Chinese in order to help them in their studies, and of course, to continue teaching young people how to enjoy drawing.
